We have had such a wonderful experience with Carolina Vacays! Dena and Darren have been absolutely amazing throughout our stays. We’ve stayed in several of the properties they manage while we’ve been in the area, and they have consistently gone above and beyond to make everything easy and comfortable for us.

They are incredibly responsive, helpful, and genuinely kind. At one point, I even made a mistake with one of our reservations, and Dena went out of her way to help me straighten everything out. What could have been a stressful situation was handled with such patience and care.

Moving and living between temporary homes while our new home is built can be stressful, but having Dena and Darren looking after us made the whole experience so much easier. They truly care about their guests, and it shows in everything they do.

I can’t recommend Carolina Vacays — and especially Dena and Darren — highly enough. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Wilmington/Carolina Beach area, you’ll be in wonderful hands with them. We are so grateful for everything they’ve done for us!

The house is immaculate and has everything we needed (linens, kitchen appliances, table settings, etc., etc., etc.)...the front porch is a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee/pastry or an afternoon glass of wine...the neighborhood is safe (and the neighbors are welcoming!)...the location could not be better (it is an easy walk into the Historic District, the Cargo District, and the Soda Pop District)...and Dena and Darren are fantastic hosts. This is our second year at this location, and we already are booked for 2026. Absolutely everything about this vacation "home-away-from-home" is wonderful. We highly recommend it!

Recommendations: Seabird and Quanto Basta for dinner...Castle Street Kitchen and Jester's for brunch...4th Friday Art Walks...Thalian Hall for cinema and live theater...Live at Ted's and Waterline Brewery for music...and, of course, the beach (an easy 20 minute drive) and strolls along the Cape Fear River.
